Our Fees

Westlakes Medical Centre will be a private billing practice from 1 November 2016.

We pride ourselves on the delivery of high quality care healthcare.  It is important for us to continue to care for the health of you and your family with highly trained professionals and to invest in and maintain up to date technology, medical equipment and patient amenities.  Unfortunately the reality is that Medicare bulk billing rates no longer cover the cost of providing this care but the costs of running a practice increase each year, which makes it very difficult to sustain a quality practice on bulk bill fees alone.

We do provide a discounted rate for pensioners and concession card holders.

Fees are payable at the time of consultation and we accept cash, eftpos and credit card.  We are able to submit your claim to Medicare at the time of consultation and the rebate is paid directly into your cheque or savings account via a debit card.

A list of fees is on display at reception.  Other out of pocket expenses will be discussed at your consultation.

At Westlakes Medical Centre we do have some services that will continue to be bulk billed.  These include:

  • Chronic disease management plans
  • Diabetic reviews
  • Over 75 health assessments
  • Home Medicine Reviews
  • Children up to the age of 16 who have a current concession card
  • Childhood vaccinations
  • Patients over the age of 85 years
  • Veterans Affairs Gold Card holders
  • Routine house visits
  • INR consultations ($5.00 fee charged for consumables)
  • Patients who are registered for Closing the Gap
